Is the game really that bad? Is it even worth a pirate? I've been playing Sniper Ghost Warrior 3. Reviews shit on it but I think it's relaxing. I can't get the DLC to work though.

The level design is top tier. Mimic and the gloo gun let's you do some wacky shit, like scale walls and slip through gaps that look like decorations.

That's what I don't like about arkane games, there's way too much reading for the gameplay they are selling, it kills the pace to a grinding halt every time, constantly, every 2 minutes, through out the whole game.
That's why in dishonored 2 I didn't read a single thing and I enjoyed the game immensely.

As a kid and teen I fucking loved more text ylheavy or thought heavy games, was able to put up with a lot more too. But now I'm in my mid-twenties and I can't play shit like Planescape or even Deus Ex anymore despite how much I loved them back then (not the best examples I know, but examples I feel make the point in a way most understand).

Now that I'm an adult I've lost something, patience perhaps, but now when I play games I can't stand not just getting to the gameplay, and the gameplay better be fucking fun or apparently have depth I need to adapt to pretty immediately for me to care.

Though I do understand this is a personal problem, I don't think the games I'm not able to enjoy are bad just because I find myself unable to enjoy them, because that would be rather stupid of me.

Ironically I actually loved Prey (2017).

The EMP is like that because the research entry is misleading: it's a 'weakness' in the same way that the Nullwave Transmitters are, it disables (some) of the Technopath's offensive capability by shutting down turrets and operators.

The Stun Gun and any electrical damage for that matter should definitely be doing it damage and stunlocking it for as many shots as you can put out.

I realised really late that you can fix broken electric junctions if you shoot them with the goo gun first, I though I needed to find a switch to turn the power off and when I didn't find any, I just skipped them, so there's a lot of backtracking i need to do to fucking repair them

here's a small question

there are a few computers that have no power and I there doesn't seem to be any power switches or electronic junctions to repair around, how the fuck do I make those computer work? is it another bullshit trick I missed? I'm thinking about shooting them with the taser to give them power but I highly doubt that would work, that would be incredibly stupid

I am more a modern gamer, I like handholding experiences with big explosions are are obvious to see because you never are looking in the wrong direction. I have never really connected with Prey for this reason, the game have never "clicked" for me. There are things in the design that put me off.

I still could see how this game is in many than 5 ways better than the Bioshocks and the Deus Ex games. Has mentioned before in this thread, in Prey you find a body, and is a named body. Somewhere you can find his room or his bed with his name in it. Maybe some emails, because he was a person, with a role in the ship. The levels of "this make damn sense" are so deep that I can't totally warp my head around it.

In the end, I think the Bioshocks and the Deus Ex HR games are more easy palatable for everyone. They are somewhat a hybrid this raw experience that Prey produce, and linear corridors shooters with set pieces.

I just miss more games like Prey. Enough to understand them, and maybe grown has a gamer. One problem of Prey is that you have to be clever to figure things. The devs have added things to the game that most players will never see. We have forgot about this way to play videogames, because the "relax and watch the movie" style is so easy and commonplace.
