Is Persona 5 really a pretentious juvenile game like Moogy-denka claims?

>Why did you dislike Persona 5 by the way? I've only seen positive reviews on it so far.
>I just find the story to be, well, pretentious. And I mean that in the true sense of the word - it makes pretenses at being something clever and socially aware, but the writing simply doesn't have the strength to support the concepts it's trying to address. It's filled with cartoon villains, lazy attempts at humor, and baseless worship of the protagonist, and the way it all comes together does a real disservice to the legitimate social issues it's trying to address. I think there are moments here and there where it manages to nail a particular concept (particularly the casino dungeon, where it depicts the Japanese court system as a casino where the odds are stacked in favor of the house - a nice bit of social satire that's expressed via aesthetic design and gameplay elements, not walls of laughable dialogue), but the execution as a whole could best be described as "juvenile."

That's Moogy-dono-sama-chan-kun-san-heika-denka-chama-hime to you.
While I'm loving the games artsy flair and i'm digging the palace/mementos dungeons, the plot really isnt capturing me. I'm rooting for the heros when it comes to solving people issues but overall the psychological mindscape aspect just doesn't seem well handled to me so far.
>some literally who didn't like it
wtf I hate P5 now
>>377201539
That's not an answer to the question posed in the OP.
>>377201362
I'd agree.
The plot and writing is the game's weakest attribute.
>>377201362
If he thinks thats bad he should play persona 3 and persona 4 especially 3.
In order to be pretentious you have to be pretending to be smarter than you actually are. P5 doesn't do that. It's very basic. More likely, this person didn't understand it, and assumed it must be pretentious as a result.
>respecting anything moogy has to say
guy's a fucking edgy retard who learned japanese just so he could shitpost and his opinions are worth about as much as the country of ghana
>>377201720
desu not knowing 結果残存 (lingering consequences) usage of Japanese progressive form shows that Frey guy is a beginner that has no business giving out advice
that said denka acted like a dick afterwards
Who?
>>377201720
>please don't answer questions if you don't actually know japanese
rude
>>377201539
But he did like it. OP cherry picked his post.
>>377201720
>waa he's supposed to be my surrogate friend
P5's story and setting is pure unalterated shit
that's all there is to it
>>377201623
This, he clearly hasn't since he points out the MC cock sucking. It's not supposed to be this super deep social commentary, it's a fucking video game with a silly adventure just like the previous ones.
Sorry but I actually have a Persona 5 question. Is the hold up to get the personas the same as SMT? Where pretty much the answers to their questions are pretty much randomize and you just have to hope you picked the right answer?
Isn't that the faggot who complained about the english translation? Jesus fucking christ, why doe she have such a big hate boner for the game?
>>377201362
Who?
>>377202658
Yeah. You need to pick the answers according to the demon's personality which you can see in the hold up screen at the upper left corner.
>>377202783
Yeah saw it but still felt like there's really no good answer and you just pick one hoping it's one they like. Also how large is the first Palace since I'm on the 3rd floor and had to call it quit because of the lack of SP.
>>377202940
It's the shortest one, I did it in two days I think
>>377201362
Yes, butvthe actual reason I dislike P5 is becauseEOV never ever.
He's right, you know.
>>377202015
This anon too.
>>377201623
Persona 3 actually has a good story though. Even if you don't like it the game does an excellent job supporting the main concepts it's trying to address, which is punctuated especially well by the ending.
I have no clue who that guy is though
>>377203201
you don't have to, OP's just baiting
>>377203069
STOP PLEASE
Yes sure if you take the whole package at face value I can see why you'd think of the game like that. It is a love letter to a 'juvenile' sense of morality untouched by the 'distortion'/influence of society, at least that's what I thought the whole point was.
The real answer is that it's the Chaos game and chaos is the manchild alignment.
