So, 2013. Colors 3D had been released, I was in school. I saw all this cool art of custom characters, and decided to make a really shit OC called D The Hedgehog. He was really bad with my style at the time(because it was barely developed). Over time, however, my drawing got better, and people gave him nice clothes I used for the canon design.

His fur is meant to be navy blue, different to Sonic's, and is meant to move at a normal speed(the rate of the custom character in Forces). I did have other OCs on that website. D now acts as my standard account name for everything I do on the web, doubling as a joke to the Sonic fandom's creativity.

This new CaC idea looks fucking disgusting in both theory and practice.

the only time I made an OC for sonic, it was for Sonic Battle, just so I can have a sword-wielding character. I name him Tendril the Mongoose, and made him green because a bunch of his moves were based on Link. I don't even know if there's a mongoose Sonic character, but it's OC, so who cares?

I made four characters that each controlled one of the four classical elements. They were experiments in an underground base that could transform into dragons. I made a clay sculpture of their combined dragon form in middle school, but I trashed it along with everything else. All that shit is hopefully ashes by now.

I liked classic Sonic more than modern Sonic back then and I thought I was sooo much cooler for making a classic-modeled OC instead of a modern one. That was the cringe part. When I was a kid I actually hated Sonic self inserts and thought the whole fanbase was retarded. If that was as far as it had gone, I'd have said young me was on point.

However, for some reason "Sonic OCs are terrible" somehow translated to my young brain as "I bet I can do it better, I'll show them how it's done!" So I made my own horrible OC. Worse, I showed it to my friends. Luckily, the reception there was enough for me to never ever even consider putting it online.

For better or worse the file is lost to the ages but I still shudder to think of the autism I almost revealed to the world.

I used to have a character way back fucking when, he was a Sonic recolor for sure but instead of being all-powerful like the rest of the Sonic OCs, I took an approach similar to Silver.

He wasn't fast, he wasn't all-powerful, he could've use Chaos energy, hell he couldn't even do the basic spin attack stuff. But he COULD use a sword.

Clearly I am a character design genius.

When I was middle-school age, I wrote about a 5th Ninja Turtle. He didn't have a name, wasn't taught any eastern fighting style, and he was practically entirely made of edge. An alligator snapping turtle, so he was prickly also. He was picked up by some dude who ran underground fights, and was basically like all the angst and roughness of Casey and Raph rolled into one character. I may have written him as a replacement for Leo on the team (because Splinter died and the wise-master role needed filling.
