If they ever did a new ArcSys HnK, it would be fully 3D (but with 2D gameplay) like their latest games, but thanks to 3D it would have potential to greatly expand roster.
Problem is, Raoh's (and Kaioh's) VA is dead, Kenshiro's VA is retired and one of the most expensive in Japan if not the most expensive, Rei's VA is also dead and generally it wouldn't be the same.

The only way I could accept it is if they reused Raoh's voice clips from the PS2 one, got Koyasu as Rei (since he was a rather faithful replacement in Hokuto Musou) and Ishizuka as Kaioh (again, Hokuto Musou).

As long as they don't get the godawful Hokuto Musou VA for Raoh. They got the narrator guy from Kaiji to do it and it was so fucking stupidly off and unfitting for Raoh.

Ring ni Kakero is the first success JUMP had and it's the manga that shaped battle shonen as we know it nowadays creating 90% of tropes.

Hokuto no Ken itself is based on Ring ni Kakero and some of Kinnikuman(that's also based in Ring ni Kakero), pretty much everything it does was taken off from there just like pretty much every battle shonen we've had since the 70's.

The anime is what makes it for me. The first arc (Shin arc) is padded with a bit of filler and two antagonists that came after Shin in the manga are rearranged in order to happen BEFORE Shin, but that actually works better from storytelling standpoint, you will see it once you get there.

Also the music and voice acting are absolutely legendary and there's no filler after that beyond "recap" episodes after end of each arc before it goes into the next one.

Go with the anime, then read the manga.

People ITT compared Hara to Miura for a good reason, Hara was the best mangaka of his time and if it wasn't for his eyesight deteriorating, he'd be on par with Miura still, or even better than Miura considering his recent substantial downgrade when he went digital.
In terms of atmosphere and everything else, anime simply obliterates the manga.
