Anyway they're all workers at a construction/industrial site, you're going to find more hammers and saws than military hardware. There are a couple projectile weapons, but the focus in on melee.

Dark souls would be shit if it had a normal story and a set protagonist. Half of the fun is making your own character and creating a backstory and motivations for him if you want to.

I have no idea how the game forcing you to stop at NG++ is a good thing. And the game's art is objectively garbage compared to souls games. Dark souls is fucking art, it looks goddamn amazing, all the weapons and enemies and the design of the world is fantastic, 20/10 probably some of the best in any game ever. The surge is generic industrial scifi. It's boring.

I hate weebs and the new weebsouls game project whatver looks garbage but the mainline souls games look objectively way better than the kitchen appliance/chinese sweatshop aesthetic look of the surge.

From what I heard:
The game is mechanically sound.
Gameplay is pretty good in theory but has more of a focus on trash mobs than bosses (as you probably noticed people are already shitposting that there are only 5 of those)
Said trash mobs are 90% humanoid
Seems like the storytelling is a lot more similar to the average AAA game with audio logs, voiced videos in game, etc.
Areas look sort of similar from what I have seen. All of them have this industrial factory look to them, typically with a matte colorful palette.
Progression seems more linear (Start in A, then go to B, afterwards C...) where DS typically gives you more choices.
Apparently it includes crafting...
