I don't play for realism. I just enjoyed the developing issues I had to solve during my gameplay and once I had a system in place, it was no longer an issue with hospitals, entertainment, trash, etc.

I always build a bunch of small towns first across the map, then organically expand / redevelop them based on location, industry, needs, etc.

The expansion or the update from it (I don't remember which) should be able to let you toggle stoplights, stop signs, or make it a free-for-all "everyone yields" deathtrap for intersections. No proper yield signs though.

The only thing I liked about cities xl was the different types of zoning

you literally had poorfag zoning, small family zoning and like rich suburbs and executive zoning

that was pretty boss, it's the only thing cities xl had that ciites skylines didnt have
