>uses clicks for echolocation
>can't detect you unless you make noise
Holy shit, this makes absolutely no sense. What the fuck were they thinking?
>"Blind" Xenomorphs
>When they don't have eyes to begin with
>>377075427
They clearly don't know what echolocation means and just threw it in there because all blind things have it
>>377075427
I think their point was that Clickers can't really tell what's living unless it's moving i guess?
but they felt it was too hard for players so they toned it down a little.
I mean it's weird, but imagine the game if you couldnt really move when these things are nearby?

There are several games with stealth elements like that. Spotlights for example, and if you're hiding inside a box or something generally you're safe as long as you don't move. I'm guessing that staying still is boring since you're doing literally nothing, so they changed it.

Yeah that.
I feel like they couldve just fix this by making them blind only. But the voice actors already did that weird clicking noises so they just rolled with it.
It makes sence, eco location is not magic, dolphins can do what you talk about. But they have whast basically an organic ultrasound machine built into their head.
That thing just has a giant earhole and probably is only good enough for basic navigation and sensing movement. Like a bat.
Cool lore, but impossible game difficulty if treated literally.
>>377075427
Yeah it was weird that multiple characters specifically used the word echolocation despite that not being what it is.
>>377075427
Don't these fags autodetect you if you get too close?
>>377075543
>implying you need eyes to see
>>377080056
Take the upper picture and add text: Archeologist found ayy lmao skull.
>>377075543
eyes aren't real whether something has them or not
>>377079568
No. That's how you are able to shank them from behind without drawing attention.
>>377078746
Well maybe the characters were just dumb and called it that because they thought that's what it was
>>377075427
what actually happened
>hey, we need a mid range level enemy for the game
>they need to be one step higher then the regular zombies and we should at in aspects of the fungi virus so it doesnt become just another zombie game
>hey lets make then go blind with fungi and it gives them armor
>we'll make them click like bats, its creepy and makes sense since this is a game and we need fair advantages and disadvantages for the players
>sounds like echolocation to me but im not a zoologist and most people are going to notice anyway
game making like this requires a lot of push and pull. For every action there needs to be a reaction thats fair, fun and playable. Realism falls by the wayside
