The rerelease was an outright remake, as opposed to the usual HD 'remaster' thing. The game is barely recognizable from the gameplay side of things.

Vanillaware threads are comfy as fuck but the company is not as popular as it should be because they do what they know how to do, at their own pace and don't even care whatever other people think. You know it's true man. Playing Muramasa on the Wii is suddenly looked down upon because you can't easily(????) jump because there's no dedicated jump button. Emulation also doesn't count. Mods and resolution don't count either, the graphics are better on Vita. Don't even get started on the unplayably bad translation that was serviceable before the remake.

It was talked about constantly. Every Vanillaware title including GrimGrimoire was talked about. Muramasa even got the definitive version on the Vita with exclusive DLC which is even better than the base game.

The Odin Sphere remaster was made with the Vita in mind anon. Same with 13 Sentinels -- the PS4 ports were done using Vita's version as a base which is why they both run equally well. The Vita versions even outsold the PS4 versions because of it
13 Sentinels was said to be built with the Vita as a ground-work during an interview in 2015 (2013?). Things may have changed since because up until now we haven't had any news at all
