the biggest problem fans seem to have with it is it's roster. like theres no G gundam, and we expect a shitload of dlc.
a deluxe japanese version is getting extra songs in the game, so people are salty about that too.

The servers aren't region locked. There was a worldwide option in the beta and its even in the Amazon description.

As for tutorials your example is poor, your saying people who watched a couple vids and are curious about gameplay, why couldn't they watch one a player made? I know some people have plans to make tutorials. Your also exaggerating how complicated the game is. You can pretty easily play through arcade mode or whatever they'll call it and the offline content and have an understanding of how the game works and jumping onto online afterwards.

The core gameplay of Gundam Versus is great even though its worse then FB/MBON and I think it'll have a positive reception among critics and fans. However everyone thinks that Bamco is gonna go crazy with DLC and that could dissuade people from buying it (especially since the Japanese version will be out for 5 months before the Western one and people will have an idea of what to expect).

These games are pretty trash anyway.

It's fun for a little bit if you're a Gundam fan but the constant "dash shoot dash shoot dash shoot" gets old pretty fast and different stages don't really change the gameplay.

If you want to like it, you probably will since VS games typically have a very fair set of rules and suit gimmicks. If you don't want to like it, it's also pretty easy to dislike it for its simplicity since the most basic thing to do is just dash and shoot.
