I dunno man, sure the combat's better but that's all Fallout 4 really improves. I just feel there's very little room to make the character really like your own since the story is pretty set in stone, there's no skill system so builds aren't really a thing anymore, and due to having very few dialogue options. I think I realised that Fallout 4 would never truly impressed me when I encountered Kellogg and was offered no chance for a peaceful resolution since all my dialogue options were literally just "FUCK YOU" in some capacity iirc.

I missed the thorn, but maybe I am a casual. I didn't find the gameplay that compelling to visit every single little hole in the ground as inventory and the limited number of ugly items that fills every place gets pretty boring after awhile.

I have had a lot of luck with Fallout modding these past few weeks.

2 hours and 110~ mods later, go to boot up New Vegas and it runs, play it for a few hours and no crashes.

Try the same thing with Fallout 4, 100 active mods and no crashes either.

I am shocked, I remember a long time ago it was still easy to do but you could almost guarantee some issues on your first attempt, now it seems like with NMM and LOOT you can easily iron out most of those problems without batting an eye.

The obvious three in Sneak, Melee and Unarmed with Medicine or Survival to back it up with improved healing items for when shit inevitably hits the fan

If you go with Survival you can put more SPECIAL into Luck or something. Survival increases the Strength you get from steaks and alcohol and the DT bonus you get from Cass' Whiskey Rose perk. She's tagged with Melee Weapons so just give her a knife or something

You can get into the Strip without going through Freeside at all. You can get in good with the NCR by doing a few quests and then use their monorail. I honestly wish this was advertised more and maybe a few more benefits were thrown onto it.

There's a nice Nightkin selling "wind Brahmin" near the north of the map

If you eat the bodies of House, Caesar, The King and President Kimball you'll get a secret perk. The existence of this perk wasn't even in the strategy guide since they wanted it be as secret as possible. It's a pretty shit perk though

Rotface has a cut unmarked quest. As you buy his tips, he'll ask your opinion of some things, then raise his price, ask another opinion and raise his price a further time and then when he's all out of caps something will happen.

Based on your choices he will: Get mad at you and try to mug you, get killed because he threatened the locals with his gun, get killed because he dressed too fancy in Freeside, take his money and move out of Vegas or go to work for the Followers at Old Mormon Fort.

I played 150 hours of NV on PS3, it was suffering at times.

I think my game save got so big the game ran at .5fps in Red Rock Canyone no exageration. So pretty much every quest that involved that I either didnt do, or sat their for 30 minutes, and I pretty much killed all the important people there so I never had to go back for the story ones. I also had problems with the Camp Gold, that mansion would lag a lot.

My PC is more than capable to run it but I am a trophy addict.

I think this might just be a problem with the base game, but I remember texture seams being really apparent/bad. Like you could clearly see when dirt connected to tarmac or whatever, they didn't blend well together, and the sharper textures only accentuated that.

Overall i really like the game but something feels off when playing the quests all over again (even if this is my second time playing it after finishing it once in the PS3).

I tried to play it again on PC with all the DLCs which i havent finished yet, put all the mods i wanted to use to shape it into a more hardcore game with food and shit and even added a additional start but i just cant get back into the game for some reason.

Each attempt i made always ends up failing after the first 3 to 5 hours, also no matter what i always end up picking the side of Yes Man in the runs i got to New Vegas.

I dont even know the plotline of NCR or Legion.

They're not too bad. The NCR's expansionism resulted in the independent tribes and settlements around New Vegas coming under NCR law to a greater or lesser extent. While some - maybe most, since they are mostly generic NPCs - are legitimate asshole criminals, others like Meyers functioned as valuable parts of communities and were locked away simply for breaking NCR laws that the citizens of New Vegas never agreed to.
