So who would be open to seeing Nintendo give the Zelda engine and structure to a few teams and seeing what they come up with? I love the movement and controls of the game

It's more of a matter of if Nintendo would be willing to give up the engine. If they actually could, I can imagine lots of games putting that engine to good use.

Imagine the different sort of spin off. Imagine a Zelda with less of an open world but more intense dungeons, maybe a spin off where you create your own character.

That's what they already did for development. Look at the developer videos, they basically let the staff think and render up random ass shit and used what worked. There's footage of Link being attacked by UFOs shooting down lasers exploding everywhere for example.

>create your own character
That sounds retarded.
>>377033287
Why? It is commonly shown that most players prefer customizable characters, all else being equal.

Wow, that would be a great way to sell a console, if every game dips into single-digit FPS during combat

Do you mean spinoff or do you just mean an entirely different game? I'd be fine with the latter, don't care for the former.

Because this is the Legend of Zelda not a generic fantasy RPG.
>>377034742
That is why it should be a spin off or different game.

As long as that core concept that you quoted is the same either way, what does it matter? It obviously interests you
