I don't play Guilty Gear at all really, but given that Baiken is missing an arm and an eye, the way she dresses, and her general bearing and posture, I can guess a lot about her character. She comes across as ruthless and reckless, someone who would pursue their goal with a single-minded fanaticism. She doesn't care much for formalities, or socialization at all for that matter. The only thing she really does care about is honing her skills in combat, so that she can accomplish her goal (revenge, I'd wager. What else would motivate her to maintain her disposition even after losing an arm and an eye?). I have no idea how accurate that analysis of her character is, but I'm pretty confident that it's fairly accurate.

Remember, I've hardly ever touched Guilty Gear. I bought Xrd when it released and messed around for a few hours but never got into it. I only really know the character from seeing her tits posted on /v/. But I'm able to read that much into her character from her design. You see, that's what character design is actually about, the character. "Practicality" isn't important at all. Superfluous, meaningless shit that doesn't tell the player anything like random belts and zippers is bad. Character design that actually characterizes the character isn't just fine, it's fucking great. It's essential in fighting games, which don't tend to have much in the way of story, and where the character design is really the only vehicle for the developers to communicate characterization to the player. If you're playing a fighting game for the first time, how do you choose which character you play first? The answer is the character design, as it's the only information available to you at that point.

17 whole years before Charizard was buffed enough to be actually usable, and it took giving it TWO Mega Evolutions to do it.

One to make it a really powerful Sun setter, and one to make it an actual Dragon. This made it less predictable, less vulnerable to Stealth Rocks, and in the case of Y-Zard, streamlined its body so that it wasn't so fucking fat.

Seriously, Charizard is a fat, bright orange 5 foot dragonlet that took 17 years to even be recognized as a dragon.

Liking Charizard is a surefire way to detect a genwunner who is blinded by nostalgia and knows nothing about Pokémon.

Her design's purpose was to be controversial and nonsensical on purpose to make you think of Quiet even less while she tried to romance Venom, sort of.
