Turn it all the way down and then start playing. I hate it when a game gives you a torch/lantern/flashlight/whatever and is then never dark enough for you to need to use it.

Even at max some of those areas just have shit lighting, and not like Tomb of the Giants you need a lantern cause thats this areas gimmick, just everything is hard to make out cause the lighting is shit.

If its a competitive game all the way up. If not, leave at default and adjust as I play.

Although usually even when it says make the image invisible, I can still see it at minimum brightness

You do realize that those ingame settings have nothing to do with your TV calibration, but with the preferred image by the game?
I mean you obviously dont, but theres a reason why games have those, and its not your TV.

I meant every time a game ask me if I lightly see/don't see/see an image I don't have to touch the in-game setting to get the result the game expect.
