They were these weird white trash family from san diego that ran an IT company and I remember being a teenager and dreaming of being able to move to work for them.

They were terrible at raiding though. We never made it past t5 content and we were just killing Vashj and KT AFTER they got their 30% health nerf.

My story goes nearly the same, 2 months before TBC ended, Argument with some new fuck to the guild while doing a ZA bear mount run I healed.
In a few hours 4 old members quit too and then one of our raid leaders came on, he just whispered me a few lethargic "are you for real?" I really miss the whole need/greed mechanics of the game, when they took them out the whole loot system became too impersonal.
An event like that - that makes it personal, you wouldn't group with that priest the next time, you would probably fuck him over if you could, might even go an autistic bit further and put him on a list of yours. It was really good even if people got fucked over by it.

Just like how I could make friends on my event you could make enemies that way too, and when the "world" was just the 2-3k players on your realm there was a solid chance you might meet with them again and again. I really miss it.

>eventually meet each other in real life a couple of times, we decide to be a couple
>move in together, everything is great, we're economically stable and her relatives really like me (my own family didn't seem to give a shit, and they barely care about me either)

>Get my own little raiding group out of handpicked members, run ICC without any problems

>Girl joins the guild
>Beta orbiters entering stable orbit
>Drama happens
>Some of the few guys of my raiding group abandon guild, seeing as everything is going down
