>Single player game with incredibly low chances of loot dropping
Why is this a thing
>>376963017
I think the question answers itself, but basically game balance.
>>376963017
WHY DOES THIS EXIST
>>376963262
That isn't so bad. It's the PDA that is bullshit.

No pain no gain
Terraria

I am never going to try Terraria
Well, I like it myself. The alternative would mean drops have absolutely no value if you can get a powerful equip easily at the start of a game, and that would suck out the fun for me
>>376964106
The alternative should be devs accounting for balance and not being lazy faggots
>>376963351
FUCKING THIS
I HAVE EVERYTHING BUT THE FISHING BULLSHIT
It's to artificially inflate game time and give autists something to do
>>376963262
Ankh Shield is easy. I usually get it with minimal grinding around the time I do the moons. In my current playthrough, , I already got The Plan, Armor Bracing, the Bezoar, and the Obsidian Shield. Getting a little woried about the Nazar, though. I remember having to farm it for literally 3 hours once before I got it.

But what are you asking for, 50% instead of 0.001? Outside of drops, you already will get increasingly powerful weapons and armor from chests and boss fights, low % drops should be for the ultra rare shit. Although speaking of that, I think NG+ should always come in more than one variety. Because eventually, you'll be able to steamroll everything if you beat the game once or twice. So I think more NG+ should let you choose either starting the game with the same stats and equipment that you beat the game with, but either having the enemies remain the same, or have an option of having them be more powerful for each successive NG+. That way rare drops become actually useful and don't make you OP.

This. It's Binding of Isaac levels of inane bullshit. It's Civilization VI achievements levels of inane bullshit. It'sworse than getting to Hell in Spelunky
>>376964106
No item drops, limited money, and extremely powerful storebought items that you can only afford a fraction of is the best way to do it IMO.
>>376964106
There are far better ways to go about it rather than making it luck based. Xenoblade Chronicles/XBCX do it perfectly.
>>376964447
Fuck the Angler. His bullshit ceases TODAY
>>376963017
Why would it be better in a multiplayer (shit) game?
>>376963017
gameplay extender
>>376964645
Fucking just make it so you get things at a set time.
>>376964797
That sounds like a grindfest, and unless the combat is in any way fun or challenging, that'll get boring fast.

>>Single player game with incredibly low chances of loot dropping
This shit is why I fucking hate hunting games like Monster Hunter. Fuck grinding the same shit over and over and over for that 1% chance of a plate drop.
And whenever I see a nintenyeardrone brag about having 1k hours in monster hunter... I facepalm because it's tedious boring as fuck grinding to get 1k hours.
