The first Metroid is an okay labyrinth game but a pretty bad platformer.

Zelda did it better.

The only RPG zelda is Zelda 2 which is very difficult. Windwaker is NOT an RPG and its the easiest game. If you don't like it then Zelda games aren't for you.

I agree that the hostile alien world is much more menacing in metroid 1. But grinding for energy and no map gets really tiring when the novelty wears off.
