Just finished the game today and started the NG+. Game is a lot of fun by combining high school sims and dungeon crawling.

It is very difficult to get all the things like max out all the social link in the first playthrough. That is easier to max all the social links in second playthrough since you don't need to grind stats anymore.

The plot is a bit high and low though. I really enjoy the theme of rebel against the society but the end is turn out a bit weird. This is my first Persona so I guess the third half of the game is somehow familiar to veteran players.

The SP patch sold by the doctor makes SP trivial and can be acquired as early as the second dungeon.

Okay anon, here's how ambushes work. Your team gets one full round, then the enemy goes. After that, the battle is set to a state as if you started a standard battle. So if the enemy is faster than you, it's entirely possible that they could go twice in a row if you fail to wipe them in 1 round.

It's a Persona game, in 3 and 4 and hell even SMTIV you win 90% of trash battles before the enemy has a chance to do anything. Most areas have a flow of you discovering weaknesses and stuff, then crushing everything in the first turn, then introducing new enemies and repeat. The major challenge is surviving that first wave of new stuff then formulating an SP efficient strategy for killing different packs.

Position hack only ever activated when I got ambushed or attacked a gem, insta-kill happens when you're super over leveled for the area, and the gun opening honestly makes fights take more time since you'll probably win in one turn anyway.

I imagine most people do it so they can finish any Social Links they missed the first time and to fuck around with super high level demons. The thing with P5 though is that it's the longest game yet and it's very possible to finish all Confidants in a first playthrough without even following a guide. What I did was reload my save right before Yaldabaoth and grind random battles by letting all my party members get hit with status effects and went several fights with them at very low HP.
