I don't fucking understand it. I just went on a loss streak and got knocked back down to Ultra Bronze, this is fucking infuriating. Does someone want to explain why you can't do anything at all against pressure? Someone who is on your ass will just mash buttons like a tard and they'll even beat out lights so you can't hit confirm out of it. Can't backdash out, can't jump, can't even get a tap in and as long as you try you'll just eat hits. Frame trap frame trap overhead throw, repeat. And what's the point of v-reversal? You can use it for a break but if they knock you down even once it starts all over.

Stop playing SFV. There are way better fighting games on the market right now (pretty much any other current gen FG is better than SFV).
At the very least stop playing ranked and go to lobbies or something.

People talk about how this game is all rushdown, but having solid defense is just that much more important because of how quickly shit can go pear-shaped if you don't. First solution is just not getting into those hard-knockdown situations as often, so don't eat CC sweeps. Next, when you do get knocked-down, pay less attention to the options you don't have in this game and more attention to what your opponent is trying to do. in Bronze silver especially, too, you're rarely going to run into people who know to bait and punish V-reversals, so use it liberally. You also have a 3-frame normal, so mash that shit if their meaty timing seems shite.
This isn't previous games; stop expecting it to be and you'll be fine

Blocking beats buttons. Just block them, tech their throws and then punish when they throw out an unsafe move. Or use v-reversals and invincible moves. Or maybe git gud and don't get in those situations in the first place.
