No. They both do different things and they both do those things well. Even SMT IV:A, for all of its problems, did a lot right. Hopefully the new one is a bit mroe of a return to form as far as tone and atmosphere goes. I love Persona, but ATLUS needs to recognize that the things that make SMT good are not what makes Persona good and vice versa. Each should be their own thing instead of making a half breed like SMT IV:A tried to do.

It wasn't announced that long ago. It was honestly a terrible moment for me watching the stream, because when that music kicked in I got so excited because I thought it woudl be a sequel to SJ, but instead it was just a remake for a game that doesn't need a remake with added in Yukiko and bad new art, while SMT1 and 2 weren't even mentioned despite the fact that they actually stand to benefit from a remake.

Wasn't Raidou Kaneko's pet project? Without him around, I don't think that we'll be seeing any new Raidou games. Though, in the trailer for the new SMT there's those cherry blossoms like in the Raidou level up screen, so maybe there's come correlation there. I highly doubt its Raidou 3, but maybe there'll be some references to Raidou or something.

I just hope it's good, whether it's popular or not doesn't concern me. Though I will say, it will probably be more popular than SMT IV or IV:A, considering having 3D models will make it more appealing. I'm sure there's a decent amount of people who are completely put off by the 1st person battles on the DS games.
