I roleplay but not as my character. I usually come up with a backstory and build to keep in mind for the playthrough but I do not plan ahead for choices. I then pretend to be an omnipotent narrator to the events of the game while still controlling my character.

I'm trying Fallout 4 at the moment, and it feels incredibly restricting in comparison. I hate how the only faction that has any sway in the Mojave and likes melee weapons is the legion, but when you go to Legion camps all the skill checks are for explosives, repair, science, and medicine. If you're gonna be a bunch of machete-wielding savages why not own it?
