I don't care about the story in Fates but I have to admit that it could have been good thanks to the "what if" idea behind it, and instead it's shit, so I understand why people would be frustrated. The supports are enough for me to enjoy the characters anyway so it's fine. The only ones that I don't like are Azura's, she feels more like a walking plot device than an actual character. Something that frustrates me more than the story itself is the fact that you have to pay for each route and the shitty localization. Not the censored stuff like the minigames but the useless name changes and the dialogues made shittier.

I beat Birthright and Conquest, enjoyed both, now I'm playing Revelation and the maps exclusive to this route are boring. I don't know if I should keep playing just in case it gets better or not. I'll just marry Niles, Xander or Ryoma and stop playing Revelation and maybe go back to one of the other routes.

Birthright Corrin doesn't do anything dumb - though that is in part because Birthright is a really straight forward route. Revelations Corrin starts clearing things up after the initial Ch 6 fuck up.

Curious and floating something out. What would you anons think of trying to make a sensible "route" or telling of Fates without the massive fuck ups that it is?

Hell, if we got programmers, I'd love to take a crack at making a version of this (pretty good) game that doesn't hurt my brain when I try to think about it.
