oh cool another year of that piece of shit getting shilled on here

can't wait for more amazing explanations on how selling an unfinished game is just the best, locking people out of content is super cool and forced online is amazing
>>
Right
I've had enough

Wow, one bad example of the games systems failing, amazing

I tried the same and gut blasted by 5 emptying their mags at me, you got lucky.

So supposedly it was squeenix's idea to go episodic.
Next they'll announce some form of kickstarter faggotry for their season 2.
It will be episodic.
It's just like poultry
>>
>>376808026
Episodic format worked for Hitman.

I doubt it, even then it's not even a confirmation so I have no idea why was this thread even made in the first place.

The game needed weapon customization like in blood money, but for that they would to have had more missions to make money to buy weapons/accessories, no matter what making it pay to play missions was a bad move
>>

you must be retarded if you think over half a million sales is bad

It's hard to know how successful a game is just based on units sold. You would need to know revenue generated and what production + marketing costs were.

A game could be a multi million seller but if it sells most of those units at a deep discount it's not going to be as successful as a title that sound less but kept it's price longer.

Fellow 47 fans, this is actually an opportunity. A different publisher, that's from the west and isn't greedy and focused on anime games, may see the true value of the series and provide IO with much more funding than SE ever did. >>
>>376814385
Excellent taste, Anon. The game would have been my favorite of all time if it had two missions in Hong Kong less, or at least had a few more missions, a shame it was rushed in development. As it stands, is in my top 10, but that's already great enough.
>>
>>376807498
I told you cunts yesterday.

I bet Starbreeze buy it.
>>
>>376814497
Thanks Anon, your taste is great too. Yeah the HK missions weren't as good as the rest of the game, if they really had to do some missions from previous games, Silent Assassin had some much better candidates, imagine An Invitation to a Party remade with the Contracts aesthetic and style, for example.
>>
>>376814776
I liked the HK missions, but they were too short. I wish there were more missions, or if the Hong Kong missions were replaced (save for Lee Hong's Assassination).
Silent Assassin is an amazing game, at times I think it's better than Contracts, purely because of the variety it has. It also contains some of the best missions in the series, Invitation to a Party, Basement Killing, Death of Hannelore etc.
What brings it down for me is how mediocre some missions feel in comparison to those best ones. Basically all the missions in Istanbul, and of course, Hidden Valley and At the Gates.
>>
>>376815020

I don't remember any mission in Istanbul
>>
>>376815020
Yeah when people think of 47 as a globetrotting assassin, SA is the definitely best example of that. It does indeed have a lot of filler though. They were clearly still experimenting with the idea of levels that don't have any proper targets, something which only happened once in Contracts (and even so Asylum Aftermath was a strong start to the game) and then died out with BM, only to return in a terrible way in Absolution (remember the Suit level?).
>>
>>376814202
keep crying

i for one like the episodic nature of Hitman
>>
>>376815486
I meant those missions in the desert, culminating with Tunnel Rat, which is one of the worst missions in the series probably.

>>376815538
I agree. Contracts was a smaller game, but with less filler. I enjoyed each and every mission (as short as they were). It also has the best AI, it's not too harsh like in Silent Assassin, but not stupid like in Blood Money. It was just the right way. Contracts is definitely the most balanced game in the series.
>>
>>376815693
Yeah Contracts' AI took SA's AI and made it much more relaxed while still maintaining that feeling that the guards will fuck your shit up if you act suspicious. Blood Money just removed that sense of having to be cautious completely.
>>
>>376816346
Right. Also, the camera was too zoomed-in, at least for my liking.
I just wish more people played other games in the series, they usually play Blood Money and leave it at that. Silent Assassin and Contracts are both better.
>>
>>376809657
Jesus Christ do I have to get on the game right now and make a webm of him fucking standing there?

He was always standing there. It takes about 15 seconds for what is called the "alerter" NPC to run to the guard, interact in their little conversation and have the guard move to the area where you committed the crime. That's how this game works
>>
>>376809631
The point of the first webm was that professional difficulty does not make the AI more intelligent like fuckwits on /v/ have suggested
>>
>>376807498
>sources say that IO Interactive keeps the rights to the Hitman IP
how is this saved?
the last 3 hitman games have progressivly got worse, to the point of hitman 2016 being follow the quest marker to kill a hit all while being half a game.
it's a worser game than absolution. only redeeming factor it has is larger level design.
IO have fucked up the series and I guess the original devs who made the first 3 games are long gone
>>
>>376815693
2016 is objectively the most balanced game though, since you can actually run without getting shot.

From a mechanical and scoring perspective, 2016's only flaw is that it has a "never spotted" system rather than a witness system.
>>
>>376816543
Please do, as you can see in the webm I posted, the aisle guard catches up to you if you don't remove him and the prompt to surrender comes up before you can get through the first set of double doors.
>>
>>376816743
It's hardly its only flaw, you fucking shill.
Refer to >>376807592
And Contracts is the most balanced game, because it has no bullshit that 2016 has, no matter how big 2016's missions are.

>i for one like the episodic nature of Hitman
Good for you. The majority of the consumerbase doesn't and it proved to cost the developers a lot.
>>
>>376816471
I think part of it is because people generally find it difficult to adjust to the older games of any series, after being used to (usually easier and more casual-friendly) mechanics of newer games. I personally never understood that though, I went from Blood Money to SA and then Contracts without once getting pissed off over how the mechanics are harder and more unforgiving.

Elusive Targets don't mean much, don't worry about em. The only reason to whine is if you're autistic and need to have access to every cosmetic in the game to complete your collection.

Functionally you can get all the same tools from normal gameplay, and the best suits are from the non-elusive content anyway.
