That's because Blizzard ruined WoW with Wotlk, streamlined classes, dungeon finder killed server communities (you had to know people to do heroics) also heroics became easy as shit, threat became nonexistent making tanking a facerolling job

But the worst part were the hard mode, doing the same boss just with an extra ability or some bullshit passive aura, normies had no incentive to push a bit more once they beat the boss in babby mode, during Vanilla or TBC you had to go through a lot to get to higher level raids

But Mythic+s are actually good. They keep dungeon content relevant unlike the WoD and MoP where they became irrelevant basically when the first raid opened. They also kind of remind of how dungeons worked pre-LFG tool, some communication, party chat sometimes even has some friendly chat going on. Also actual challenging endgame content for people who don't have time to devote multiple weeknights to some shit raid guild.

My good friends bought it for me December 2015 so we could play together. It was really fun to go through with them, and that was my gateway to try leveling solo and whatnot.

That was lame. It feels like a ghost world most of the time, and there is nearly no tolerance for new players in dungeons unless you're DPS, but of course you are. And because you are, your queue times for dungeons will range from 5-50 minutes at every point during your journey. So yes, you really should find some friends if you plan on having a good time, unless you are truly autistic enough to enjoy playing alone.

What makes WoW somewhat different is that it gives an illusion of the possibility to return to that place of happiness. Only to realise that what made WoW so great wasn't the game, it was your carefree life and the friends you made.

The Reason I left WoW, and the Reason why I will never return because of how stupid it has became.

1. -1% Mount drops. In theory theres a chance of you never getting it in your life time. You can argue that it adds something to do in the game but I've spend 6 years trying to get Invincible and I finally quit trying.

2. Gold Farming, played WoW for about 7 years, still dont know how to even make gold in WoW. Most gold I've ever had was about 100k. Other MMO's are simple but WoW takes it to another level cryptic.

3. Trying to Queue for a raid. Good fucking luck. I was 875 before i quit tried to do Emerald Nightmares Heroic but everyone wanted the Achievement for it. "Link the Achievement" how the fuck am i suppose to get it if everyone is rejecting and asking the same thing. This is what killed WoW for me. Im a solo played, dont have time for guilds/weekly raid times.

4. Gear farming. Remember when it was fun farming for gear? Holy fuck it took me 3 week to get 860+ at the start of legion. When I first started WoW and reached max level it took like a good month to get my first Rare item. Its not fun collecting gear anymore. Game is waaaay to rewarding. It makes the gear you get invaluable to you.

Started in vanilla and quit in WotLK. Decided to go back for Legion to see what's changed and play casually with a bunch of friends, and it just completely burned us out in just a couple of months. It was fun at the start, but now the idea of going back is so repulsive, I can safely say I'm done forever with WoW.

I've never played WoW but I regret not having at least tried it once during its peak (I was aware of the game since BC), but due to things like region (playing most MMOs here is a bitch if it doesn't have local servers), and price I never gave it a go.

Maybe the veterans will say good on me for not having stuck my foot in there. I think this is one of those grass is greener on the other side scenarios.

Depends on who and what the storylines would be about.
The overall Suramar one wasn't terrible.
The one with the Withered in Aszuna was good too.
But then you have the stupid things like Warriors suddenly dealing with Odyn for no logical reason or Vol'jin getting entirely ignored during his time as Warchief.

We've reached a weird point where WoW has lasted longer than anyone could anticipate and no one really knows how long it will keep going; because of that there isn't really much else other than completely new storylines to add extra content.

I started playing in early BC.

I cancelled my sub and my acct has about 15 or so days left.

I just cant justify the money on it anymore desu - I don't raid anymore, most my friends are elsewhere or stopped playing, and casual pvp with a couple remaining friends is kinda rare and the only thing worth doing - but not worth the sub anymore.

The way WoW blew up and kept the momentum, it was clear it was going to last for a long time in some form. No one managed to put forth proper estimates of its success, though. Years ago I figured it'd lose momentum and stabilize at maybe 200k players around the 10 year mark. Obviously wrong, even though WoW has been hemorrhaging active subs since MoP. Still, I figure it'll be around 10, maybe even 20 years from now, just with ever-waning relevance.

Regardless, 99.9% of players who started in Vanilla did not make it all the way to Legion. And the .1% that did make it are not going to make posts like this complaining about how they can't quit and how the game isn't good anymore. They accepted their choices many years ago and are essentially husks of human-beings at this point. Even if they still had feelings about their addiction, they wouldn't analyse them or give them attention. Again, they are at the most generous level, beasts. Their lives are so incredibly empty that their only escape is into this dopamine simulator.

I love WoW, but every expansion after lich king felt stupid, I would no life for 2 weeks and leave the sub to rot because I had nothing to do anymore, just running in the daily threadmill because there's nothing else going on feels like self enslavement.

I can't believe they haven't developed some alternate progression path where crafting gets you decent gear, so you can no life grinding all day and still be a pretty decent character, instead of running the fucking daily train and the dumbfuck raids.

Subbed for a month and it runs out in two days. Won't bother resubbing.

I started about a month after launch of vanilla, and it essentially ruined my life at the time. I played every day about 12-14 hours a day. This lasted until BC, where I still played 8-10 hours everyday.

I didn't unsub from the game once until Wrath, where things started to slow down for me. For some reason, I just could not bring myself to play as much, I was enjoying other games, and when I spent too much time playing WoW I got physically disgusted.

Every since Wrath, I can't find a reason to stay subbed to this game. Magic is gone for me.

I really wish I could get the time back I spent in vanilla, my life would probably have turned out differently.

Your brain has already become used to obtaining pleasure from simply playing WoW, and it would take years until you could get used to something else like that.
