If you want the tail cut, get the biggest goddamn weapon you can, get him to hit the immortality crystal with his own breath attacks, and then go for it while he's stunned.

Cutting off his tail is a pain in the dick. He's an extremely easy boss only if you're not interested in the tail.

wait until seath closes the gap and attacks you, he'll hit the crystal, breaking it and stunning himself

run behind seath while he is stunned and attack the very end of his tail to get his tail weapon

I remember when I did my nonlethal run, its really hard at first but after you get around 35 int it gets exponentially easier. Did you choose the starting class with the lowest base faith? A couple points into it can really mess your run up early on as it does a flat reduction of int.

Cutting his tail is a nightmare due to how quick he turns by the time you run to it. Took 20 tries until I just gave up and beat him.

Cutting Kalameet's tail is piss easy compared to Seath.

Having a phantom there can be of help if they realize you're going after the tail. One of you distracting him goes a long way. Though last time I tried this the fight was very buggy.
