God Eater 1 and 2 are fun if you are a into monster hunter style games, Soul Sacrifice Delta too.

Honestly if you got burned out on the 3ds I don't know how you expect the Vita to last you any longer, the library is generally inferior with a few standout gems here or there.

As for the game, it's a first person dungeon crawler. Bit more casual than EO but it features a weird but neat grinding system (before certain encounters you can use an item that determines your drops i.e. swords, shields, underwear). Bit fanservicey in the cutscenes, AI seemingly has no limit and can use their strongest moves in succession or act like a docile mouse sometimes but there's a good amount of depth in the character building.
Soundtrack is good too, has a vocaloid theme to it.

As for vita get shiren the wanderer, puyo puyo tetris (jp import), umihara kawase (jp import or digital), taiko (jp import), and dungeon travelers 2.

Also all the vanillaware games.

On the same boat as you OP. Combined commute can take 5 hours. This is the primary reason I bought a vita this year.

Killzone Mercenary and the Steamworld games are good on the vita. Oddworld Stranger's Wrath too if you haven't played it yet.

The vita is a massive port machine, but if you're cool with that, then it's pretty great.
MGS HD is great
Gravity Rush is fun
Final fantasy 10 is good
Persona 4 is good
Dead or alive 5 is good
Dragons crown is great
Odin sphere is great
Muramasa is great
Killzone is good and very impressive
The ninja gaiden ports aren't perfect, but still fun
The God of war ports are messy, but still fun
Same goes for the jak collection
Ditto on the ratchet and clank collection
Oddworld strangers wrath is good
Soul sacrifice delta is good
The danganronpa games are good if you haven't played them. I like the spinoff too, but no one else did.
There's lots of good Indy games like super stardust delta and hotline Miami
The katamari vita game is pretty good
Ultimate marvel vs capcom is good
Lots of other weeb games I didn't list that I'm told are pretty good.


Then there's also the ps1 and psp back catalogues.
