It was a different kind of fun. /v/ LOVED Mass Effect 2, despite being tsundere for it these days, with multiple generals and waifufag threads up 24/7 for weeks after launch. It was a genuine, happy time.

Laughing at the flaming train wreck of ME3 was the start of the modern culture of /v/, where everything is shit and watching games flop is more fun than actually playing them.

It's okay for a game to not have a final boss if it had good bosses along the way. ME3 had no good boss fights so it was just shit on top of more shit.

You mean completely rework 90% of the writing and character designs? There is very little to be redeemed about the current state of ME:A. Both PC's are inoffensive/insufferable faggots with no character and zero roleplaying potential. Yeah, the franchise is dead for now. Andromeda was a bomb and there won't be a sequel. I'm sure there'll be another attempt at rebooting it 5-10 years down the line. Anything unresolved from Andromeda will probably be tied up in a comic or a novel or something.

The Collectors could have been their own bad guys in their own story (would need a different motive though), Shepard could have just been some old vet trying to help when no one else would other than Cerberus, picking his team from the underbelly of space society to save the day and not get any reward for it.
