The only thing I dislike is the whole signs thing, it seems mostly useless, but otherwise it's a great game, kinda with there was a sequel or something.

It's not fun actually. Story is really short and incoherent. Very repetitive, gets old seeing the same nine maps. Harder difficulties is basically mooks being damage sponges and OHKO any character without damage reductions. Shit loot system and broken arena battles.

Game also looked terrible. While Muramasa was mostly empty run thro fields, it made you appreciate the vibrant environments more. Dragon's Crown as frantic gameplay so you take no notice to the backgrounds, as well as a lot of grey/brown which makes absolutely nothing pop out in general. No post launch support like new skills, maps, classes, or even fucking events.

It was the worst 200 hours I've ever invested in a game. Right before I thought it was gonna get getter, it always dissapointed which left me with a empty.

It can get a bit repetitive once you've been through all the environments, then start doing them repeatedly. Also the rune system is kinda shit, like it was thought up early in development, the rest of the game came together fine, then someone said "Oh shit, we still have this letter-tapping thing that slows things to a crawl, oh well keep it in."

Still pretty damn fun, though. Would be nice to get it on the PS4, or even the Switch for handheld/home console fun with a single purchase.

The rune system and cooking work best on the Vita which the game was designed for. Honestly, if they optimized the game better for handheld with less framedrops and a non retarded camera, it might have shaped up to be one of the better Vanillaware games.

That's one of the issues I have with Vanillaware games, they waste too much effort on art and not enough fine tuning the game. I've yet to play a game of theirs that didn't lag horrendously. Gameplay falls flat when player execution is faster than game processing.

I haven't played the OS port, but that was one of main concerns that kept me from getting it was did they fix the performance. OS PS2 was so bad and so reliant on not taking damage for high rank that it was frustrating when you got hit because of lag. Many times I died in Muramasa OHK mode because I mistimed the frame I was suppose to resurrect on.

I had easiest time with sorceress and amazon. Sorceress in particular was most fun all the way for me. Flying around the screen, the aerial down attack flower ice spell, good stuff anon! Pumped up amazon is hayai and tsuyoi, but is like a car when she enters berserk mode so she can bypass targets. Dwarf and Elf are excellent too. Gotta love those rocks in the boss rooms. Fighter has few viable moves. I think he has lowest post-game potential. Wizard is worst to play as if you have no partner, especially at the true final boss. He gets good post game.

I liked it enough, but I wish the combat was a little more complex (then again, I played mostly as Amazon).

Also, I don't understand the appeal of random loot + money being the reward for beating stages. If only there were enemies with more defined mechanics to beat them, or stages that needed platforming or hidden paths, etc.

I feel that it's nan IP that would benefit from getting a sequel. I personally loved the fucking shit out of Dragon's Crown. Great time to spend playing with your friends online. But there's lots of room for improvement.
