The GPU is also much better than the Scorpio's IGP. The 470 would be a better analog, but the GPU in the Scorpio is actually still only second-gen GCN.
4GB of video memory is also a closer comparison if you look at the Scorpios memory arrangement which is 4GB for Windows, 4GB for games, 4GB for the GPU.

Plus keep in mind that the only reason the Scorpio is able to be so cheap is that it doesn't use discrete components like you're pricing out. You can find a power supply to power that rig for 40USD (they payed 85). For 30USD you can get 8GB of DDR3 RAM (they payed 60). A 60USD motherboard will work fine (they payed 133).

You can just reuse an old case and save 35. Also even an old intel 2500 (non K) for 50USD and hyper 212 (25USD) will do better than what is in the Scorpio and work fine for PC games (they payed 138)

And take off another 15USD for the 1TB HDD because you can find them cheaper. Also their RX 580 is 275USD while you can find them new on Amazon for 250USD.

Add those saving together and the build comes out to around 625USD with the case and 595USD with reusing an old case. And for that you get a PC with the performance around the Scorpio (especially with overclocking the RX 580 and that PC also does much more than a console.

You also get that PC around half a year earlier than the Scorpio and in the Tech hardware business time is money so the earlier you get something the more expensive it is.

For under 300USD you can snag a 980ti which blows away the PS4 Pro and is still better than the Scorpio.

Also my friend has an i5 2500k from Jan 2011 and it only really bottlnecks a high end GPU at lower resolutions. If you game at 4k resolution then the CPU won't bottleneck the GPU even at 1440p it really isn't noticeable especially if you only plan on 60fps.

Even on a hot day with no air conditioning it never got hotter than 69C and the fan speed only went up to 61%.
Fan does not even turn on when I am not gaming.
It's a nice upgrade from my 2 970s in SLI.
Decided to drop SLI after many new games stopped supporting it or took forever to add support.
I am just a poor college student so the 1080ti was a big purchase for me but it was worth it!

They will have to code in the changes one by one.
The PS4 Pro still does not support higher resolutions in all games and usually the frame rate is not much better.
And they don't have compatibility with PS3 games.
If you want to play a PS3 game in higher settings and resolution you have to hope they do a remaster and pay full price.

Backwards compatibility is for last gen consoles.
The PS4/PS4 Pro and Xbox One/Scorpio are from the same generation with similar architecture. Hench supporting the older one is not backwards compatibility.
