You could always go back and play 1 and 2 on SNES. Make sure you pick up Orden's patch for the first game because the translated version is buggy without it.

Daisoujou is one of the best demons in the game and stays great throughout it. Power him up with mitamas if you feel like he's getting too weak, he's worth it.

You can even bring him to fight Lucifer and he's still useful.

What's so good about him? Meditate + Prayer was pretty dope, but my Clotho with Mana Regen pretty much eliminates mana concerns too.

Adding on to what the other anons said, make a Daisoujou with Debilitate, Meditation, Prayer, and Makatora. These are probably the most important skills for him. He gets Meditation and Prayer naturally and ensure your party will never die while Makatora can be used with Meditation to restore the MP of you or one of your other demons. Debilitate is there because it's insanely useful.

Once you have those 4 just throw in whatever you want for the remaining skills, he's a very versatile demon.

His resistances are great. He's immune to all status ailments and reflects Death and Expel skills which will eat up all the enemy team's turns. No weaknesses either.

By the end of the game I had a team full of Fiends. They didn't really matter much anyway, because Demi-Fiend shits out so much damage everyone else basically became cheerleaders. I remember having Barong for healing though.

Depends in what mood youre in. Nocturne is less story focused than DDS and nocturne also has demon recruitment and fusing which DDS lacks. DDS is more of a standard JRPG with a party of 3(You and 2 of your friends).

I think by Fourth Kalpa I had that popular Daisoujou build that's floating around somewhere, but I don't remember specifically. That level range seems about right though.

just finished the assembly of nihilo and this is my party.
any general tips?
i didn't bothered with fusing to much because i have no idea what i even need and some of the demons cost mad dosh.
is it worth to fuck around with it or should i just bother with it when i get stuck at a boss?
also how important is it to level the non summoned demons?

daisoujou, wu kong, trumpeter, really any of the fiends are good choices, albion, Black Frost, Dante should be obtainable around where you are, vishnu/shiva.
you're party is pretty good, though. i wu kong for ever he's a homie

Fuse those weak bitches. Even if it's a fusion you won't use, it's better fusion fodder for later. Try and keep all of the demons in your stock near your level.

you get it by fusing metatron and buying a 200k macca demon from a shady broker in the 5th kalpa. you can get by with putting pierce only on demi fiend and putting the rest of the party on support.
