Black Flag is a phenomenal game but not one you should enter the series with because this one has almost NOTHING to do with the AC story

It's a GREAT game but a piss poor AC entry

Start with the first game or 2, then work your way up. 3 can be skipped

Haven't played it but I did enjoy Freedom Cry, which uses the same map I think. The ship battles felt good. Still the series gets very repetitive.
