123 is a worthless character. Why are people gunning for her so hard? She's a huge chuuni and has no redeemable qualities.

Why would you want yet another party member? Haru was already pushing it. It's better to have less characters that have more screen time to develop than just throwing in as many people as possible. If they are just going to stand around and add nothing of real value, then why even bother?

The problem in 5 is that even if we only had characters up until Yusuke, we would've the same problem.

Story revolves around PT way too much that your conversations revolve around this even in events like the Hawaii trip which is supposed to be a break from the PT stuff.

Additionally most of the SL from your party members feel kinda disjointed from their previous development in the awakening.

The issue in 5 is not the amount of characters in the team but how they are executed.

Her arc was a bridge to a climax but the actual arc was still shit. In the fancy cutscene before fighting her dad, they spend the scene on MORGANA development of all people. She then proceeds to get over her dad's death in like a day for the expediency of the plot (and I guess because Mitsuru's already done this song and dance in another game), and then she becomes a background character for the rest of the game.

It's mostly frustrating when looking back at P4 because Naoto was introduced just as late but they made her work extra hard to get her foot into the story.

Madarame is only barely connected to the conspiracy via a single line of dialogue 80 hours later where someone says that his art forgeries were helping fund the conspiracy.

Same with Kaneshiro, but it's a lot more plausible with him considering how much more money his mafia shit would earn compared to art forgeries. Plus he's the first one to mention Sae, who ends up being by far one of the most important characters to the PT.

Not saying that Madarame's a necessarily bad villain, I just think that the plot wouldn't change much at all if he was cut.

P4 in general did have a better pacing and story structure, the problem with P5 is that story drags a lot in many parts. In P4 the investigations didn't last several days of you going back and forth before finally accessing the dungeon.

I think Futaba's fine as she is, she's the handler. Hifumi should've just been the tactician, Makoto should've been regular battle member instead of having completely useless voiced lines when checking enemy weaknesses.

I had 2 problems with that even.
First being, what High School does a field trip to another fucking country? Maybe that's a real thing, but it alone I couldn't suspend my disbelief.

Second being all they do for the 3 or so days, is whine about wanting to be back in Japan, checking their phones, and talking about the phantom thieves. Like the part where Ann sleeps over had real potential to be really funny, but no.

Why didn't they at least let you run around in a small area with shop stalls and such? Why couldn't I buy souvenirs for the Sakuras?

Hell what could have been cool is if maybe with a different explanation for them going there, maybe actually have a palace there or something.

I really feel an updated version of the game will be filling out stuff a lot better. Also the only reason I would want the shogu player as a teammate, would be the hilarious contrast of her being prim proper in real life, then a total chuuni during the palaces. Imagine her screaming about banishing shadows to the darkness and shit, I think she would have ended up being the fan favorite team member over how funny and over the top it would be.

Most of them? I mean, I've seen it before on TV Shows, and I know mine did.

Not that I went because there's a whole convoluted process to signing up for such trips that I just did not care to bother with. Hell if anything what kills my suspension of disbelief is that /RYUJI/ apparently cared enough to. Though that's just based on my own experience, and really for the sake of a game story one could assume a streamlined process. That or just say Makoto did the paperwork for him.

Honestly I didn't like that part where you find out they're connected. Not everything has to be connected in a story.
In any case, I felt like the story was pretty easy to predict, though I guess it doesn't help that you get constant flashbacks that interrupt the current story, and almost excessive information of what's going on behind the scenes. Honestly if you play the game normally, the true ending is almost unavoidable.

I wonder if there will ever be a persona where you character abandons the party and go do his own thing, maybe you have two wild cards on the team and your character is the weaker one, feeling useless?

I wonder how atlus would handle a game with a mc like adachi, someone who gains the power of persona but has anti-social issues or its just not a team player.

Adachi still managed to get a strong as fuck persona and fight four persona users toe to toe all alone, you can get strong personas even without the power of "bonds".
