Knuckles and rouge were a bit slow and tedious I admit but only the latter stages were offensive but I just say fuck it and use hints anyways. SA2 isn't a perfect game but I get lot of enjoyment but I prefer SA1 overall though anyways

There were two main things we talked about, one wasn't specific to SA1, but was hugely endemic of a lot of 3D games of that time period, and that was player control in relation to the camera.
There's lots of times in SA1 where Sonic very clearly has to, for example, make a sharp left, but by the time that left occurs, the camera ALSO makes that left, meaning the player has to keep the control stick pointed forward in order to keep on the path, and if they hit left, Sonic will fall off the stage because the Camera is also moving left and control is always in relation to the camera. False player signals, basically.

The other thing was how the levels are basically diametrically opposed to themselves.
Take the quarter-pipes in the first beach level. You want to go fast, and the game wants you to go fast, but there are a lot of points just off the main path, at the bottom of those quarter-pipes full of rings and power-ups and stuff. So you want to go fast, but if you do, you'll blow right past all the stuff you want.
So it's a game where the basic controls and the overall objectives indicate speed (You get timed), but the level design wants you to take it slower and grab power-ups.
This is even worse in any stage that doesn't star Sonic, where all the characters still control like Sonic, but the objectives force you to go slow and observe your surroundings.
It's bad player signaling, and bad game design overall.

You're using angles in a context where they're not relevant. Nobody cares about the top down view angular displacement, they care about how fast it takes for the player character to turn into the angle they want.

Turning circles are not inherently bad, they're intuitive. When you run in real life, your movement has a turning circle. Same with driving. Oversensitive "instantly change direction" in a game about running is objectively bad design.

From your image it clearly looks like the boost games have the better controls, when in fact your graph for the boost games is more like what the adventure games actually are, while the boost graph should be FAR more gradual.
