Joker for both probably. Izanagi might edge out Arsene to me if we are going just by looks but they are pretty close

Joker seems to have more "character" despite being the silent player guy

also he can be a lovable smartass compared to the others

Joker has almost no personality at all, the game just tells you he's cool without actually showing it. The best Persona protagonist is Narukami.

If we are talking about protags taking animations into consideration, Yu definitely wins only for Escapade scene. I've yet to play P5, but finding PS3 version in Poland is almost impossible.
For Personas, prolly Izanagi, designwise and by his element.
