If a company wants your money there are a certain number of criteria you get to set up before they get your money.
That said, i personally belive that games devs OWE players a demo. Not a trailer, not gameplay footage, a working playable demo that amouts to 30m of gameplay. I can try a car before i sign a lease, walk through a home and check its foundation before i put a bid on it, my favorite higher class restraunts have sampler meals that are fairly cheap(they have to recoupe food costs so thats fine.), and i can return any chinese garbage i buy to walmart or amazon with no questions asked.

Devs don't owe me anything other than a chance to try their product, and to give me what i pay for. I'm not asking for a bunch here, just what literally every other company planet wide does. Debate that fuckers.
