280x here

Would totally stick with it even today but I tried a VR demo at Best Buy recently and I fucking need it. I fucking need VR, it is no longer a want, and I don't think the 280x will deliver what I need. Subnautica on lowest at 1080p doesn't even get past 80 FPS, and that's just not how it's going to work.

GTX 660 reporting in

I need a new gpu because something with either this graphics card or it's drivers is causing sudden dpc latency and hangups that it crashes the driver constantly after an hour or two of playing.

I've tried literally everything outside of replacing the gpu

I can't play anything for a extended period of time and it's making me sad
>>
GTX 770 SLI. 2GB variants.

Really wish I'd gotten the 4GB ones instead.
>>
>>376681492
use nvidia inspector and force the fans to run at 95% constantly
>>
>>376673350
That was my old card, but then it just stopped working. It was a pretty solid one while it lasted.
>>
>>376681660
Are you sure?

I've already monitored the temps under load before it crashes and it never goes further than 70
>>
>>376681796
yes i'm sure
and the reason i say 95% as opposed to 100% is because it wears down the fans a little less

you can also force it to throttle down if it hits a certain temp (prioritize temperature)
>>
>>376681796
also try reseating the card in the pcie slot

it could just be something dumb like that
>>
Still on my r9 290 and it's crushing 1080p stuff for me. Love it so much.

>>376672121
XFX HD 5870 that I've been using since 2009. It's been doing well, but overall, my computer needs an overhaul with some parts not functioning properly and other weird instances happening.

I'm considering if I should get a 1080 ti for my new build or if I should wait for the next. I know there's always going to be better cards waiting to be released regardless of what I do. I just don't know if the time for it is prime or if it already passed.
>>
>>376682747
the recently price-dropped RX460 should suit your needs

anything more powerful than that would be ruined by the C2Q, i'd think
>>
>>376683315
but yeah look into RX 550, RX 460, and GTX 1050ti

each are different prices and offer different things
>>
RX 480 ...did ...did I do good ?
>>
>>376683836

>>
I had a 660ti for the longest time, upgraded from a GT 9800.
Recent upgraded to a 980ti.
I don't even like videogames anymore so the point of such a powerful card is lost on me.

>>376683762
