Is Rimworld worth buying? Seems like it's been in early access forever.
anyone?

Yes. It is a fun but difficult game.
The game is complete, the dev just keeps adding more and more content. Honestly it's the best dwarf fortress esque game out there, even to the point where I play this instead of DF.
I found the base game lacking in content after a while.
Hundreds of decent mods out there for it, though.

No
>build nice base
>get all your shit working
>because of its value enough raiders invade to slow your computer to a crawl
Just play DF.

its fun

id say its worth it, even without mods its simple and enjoyable, with mods it can be even more enjoyable.
Most of your colonists will randomly go mad

This is a dumb opinion. You are far more likely to run into fps death on df. Very few people will have fps problems in rimworld.

Yes its worth buying. The game is fantastic. It will also always be in early access, its following the df dev model of continual updates.
It's fun but it's not really that similar to Dwarf Fortress. Rimworld is much more of a game and designed to be a game, while Dwarf Fortress is more like a fantasy world simulator. This gameness is really stressed by the storytellers who try to fuck you over at almost every turn through raids and incidents. Once you master both games though, Dwarf Fortress has more going for it since you can experiment with physics and mega porjects, while in Rimworld your sort of done as stories aren't as organic as DF and unless your going for an extreme challenge run you don't have much to dick around with without mods.
Put over 100 hours in, its a pretty good game. Waiting for a big update to play again
i really love it, my favourite game i have played in a long while
the vanilla game is more than fine - i only got rimworld about a month ago, played around 100 hours then added a tonne of mods on and i have totalled 370+ hours on it now
it is very comfy and relaxing, and it has hidden depth to it
there are some really excellent mods as well

There's a big update right now, no release notes as it's on """unstable""" steam branch, though I've encountered practically no notable bugs.

Wrong, there's no upper limit to the amount of raiders that spawn still.
