Not the guy, but mouse input usually falls short in ports. Even in NieR Automata it's a bit wonky.

"enable raw input" isn't really a thing for the majority of ports, because they're just emulating Mouse -> Controller -> Game Input. When they need to take out the 2 steps before it and directly translate mouse input to the camera.

That's also why the RE4 mouse support was probably one of the worst offenders. They literally just did gamePadY = mouseY; with absolutely no diagonal algorithmn and shit.

They aren't using acceleration, actually.

What they do is they map raw mouse input to the game's analogue-stick input. That's how they do PC ports, they just assign KB/M stuff to existing inputs.

So the mouse's speed is capped, per-frame, at the maximum analogue stick tilt. Which is why there's such egregious negative mouse "accel" on it, since it's literally hard-capped.
