I really hope that if they make another VtM game, they let us go from Dark Ages to Modern Nights. I fucking loved that in Redemption, whereas in Bloodlines you have no sense of time passing.

The early game is always a bit rough. You have a dozen things you really NEED and only so much XP for them.

If you don't level Feed, you'll never be able to use it in combat, and half the time kill innocents when you drain them below half HP.
Without Awaken, you're reliant solely on the scrolls and probably get fucked routinely. Same with the teleport ability after it whose name I forget.
Then there's the actual Disciplines. Celerity and Presence are both top-tier important and can trivialize a lot of the harder fights and levels in the game, so it becomes a mad dash to get them. Presence 5 = nothing in the Tremere chantries ever fights back. Celerity 5 = clear the whole Dark Ages hours early.
But then you end up neglecting your base stats. Without enough Strength, you're not equipping armor worth a damn. Without any Dexterity, you're missing every attack you take. And Manipulation will actually let you sell for more than the items buy for, so you want that capped early for infinite money.

So many things to buy for a fledgling.

I played this game long before I ever played the tabletop. I really didn't have a notion of difference between damage types, especially aggravated. I just used whatever had the highest damage, which unfortunately meant I was using a lot of bashing damage weapons on Vampires. The Ainkurn sword has really low damage output too, so I remember never using it much even though it turned out to be aggravated and melted its way through enemies.

VtMR will be brought up at least once in any of the VtMB threads that make it to bump limit. Bloodlines is simply better written and a better representation of the World of Darkness. Redemption really falls for the "all members of a clan live in the same haven" trope. It's convenient way to make dungeons, but all the dungeon crawling makes the hubs feel much less alive than the hubs of Bloodlines' LA.

The game had a great multiplayer scene back in the day. It had built in dice rolls and a storyteller mode where one player could place props and control NPCs. There was a fair amount of custom props, skins and maps, as well. It was a 3D representation of a tabletop game where people could drop in and out as they like. I spent two or three years in high school doing nothing but role-playing in Redemption servers.

No reason to use any other weapon once you get the Ainkurn Sword since it returns blood and you can keep it during time transition

I love Redemption but it's flaws are pretty nasty. Bloodlines had glitches and was unfinished, whereas Redemption had bad gameplay choices from the devs.
