There's nothing wrong with that though. The game is the epitome of "it's about the journey, not the destination" and that's why it's so fun.

It's enjoyable to find an time in a specific section and get a little insight on what the hell happened. anybody that says the game is deep because of that is immature, people try to find superiority in everything.

But that's perfect.
The story (lore actually) is all it needs to be: a backdrop for the gameplay.

Its classic game design, and plays on the strength if it's medium instead of trying to be something else, like a movie - something which so many modern games try to be.
Demon's Souls was such a great example of just a pure GAME experience, and came out in a time of Mass Effects, Dragon Ages, and Elder Scrolls, games so far up their own ass with their shitty Tolkien ripoff stories.

I think the story that's there in the games is good as far as side flavor like characters and lore go, but the actual PLOT in these games are purposefully kept simple, yet well-presented.
