Anon is purposefully misreading the Japanese sales charts. The previous week had an absolutely absurd jump from 40k to 74k. This week it was back down to 46k or so. Mirroring a similar jump from 50k to 79k in weeks 3 and 4 before going down to 32k the next week, but jumping back up to 45k the week after that. Basically it's just back to what's "normal" for the weekly sales in Japan so far. Which are now, incidentally, something like 2 times what the 3DS was doing and 4 times what the PS4, Vita, and WiiU were doing during their equivalent weeks from launch.

These numbers are ridiculous compared to the other recent launches. Doesn't mean they'll keep going but the trend since like 3 weeks from launch as been in the 30-50k range, with two jumps up to the 70k's. Probably due to a mixture of new stock going out and golden week. These are also just Japanese sales, which have typically not been an indicator of health elsewhere.
