I want to return to this game but there's nothing left to play. Even the online is baron and I don't want to replay the campaign just to feel the same disappointment again

chances are if kojima hadn't cut loose the game would've just continued to flounder with him wastefully spending on things and not doing anything to further the actual development of the game.
