>tfw liked nes/snes/ps1/saturn, etc.. jrpgs but quite happy with how things turned out with PSP/PS3/Vita/PS4 anyway and backlogged to hell with too many things want to play.

Games are judged for gameplay, story, characters, music, art style, graphics, etc... look for your argument there, not on sales. Sales are important for the company, we are not the company, we don't give a fuck. We are the players, we care only about the quality of the game.

Same thing with movies...

I think jrpg's peaked during the PS2-era, and are now attempting to find an identity in a different market.

It'd be nice if they focused on quality writing rather than marketing for thirteen year olds. We need more serious jrpg's with deep writing.
