I drove an hour out to Palmdale yesterday to get one due to the scarcity, and even then 1 in stock and beaten to it by neck beards.

Switch is out everywhere, and Nintendo is doing extremely small shipments until Arms comes out.

Here in Northern Norway the switch is in stock everywhere. No one is buying here in Europe.

Currently in Japan, the only way to get one is to win at those impossible crane machines.

Their consoles only really appeal to life long Nintendo fans, so they ship out small amounts then there can be discussion about them being 'sold out' everywhere which causes mainstream gamers to pay attention, just shady business practice. It also helps them completely refuse to price appropriately compared to much more powerful rival consoles, it helps keep their current system still feel like a fresh new thing and that way they can justify the price of their consoles, games and peripherals never decreasing and Nintendo

This is a result of Nintendo deliberately understocking their products creating a resellers market which keeps prices pushed up. If you believe that the games keep value because they're so fun 'hurr nintendium' you're a sucker. Nintendo fucks it's fans over with underpowered overpriced under stocked merchandise and fans eat it up every year.

The initial production was very low because they got burned on the Wii U, which they overproduced and took forever to sell the initial stock.
