This game is probably the literally worst open world experience I've ever had.

I'm not even kidding, it has everything an open world game can do wrong, with the added on-rails car to make the open world even more stupid since you spend more time not playing the game then playing it.

I gave up on doing sidequests because they are literally the same. Someone did the laziest shittiest job possible in coding them.

The hole game can be described like this:

>watch your car drive for literally 5 real world minutes to the quest location
>walk/ride a chobobo for a few yards in a sterile empty world
>IMPERIALS ABOVE US for the 100th time, just ignore it again
>find a special mob walking in circles around an item on the floor, this is the quest itself
>kill the mob
>spend the next minute jumping around while trying to grab the object with X
>walk/ride a chobobo back to the car
>IMPERIALS ABOVE US for the 101st time, just ignore it again again
>spend an other literal real world 5 minutes watching the car going back
>deliver the quest
>the quest giver gives you an exactly copy-pasted quest but in a different location

This is probably one of the worst games I've ever played. It truly is a massive waste of your time. You spend at least 50% of your whole play time watching the car drive itself.

For me it was when that generic japanese character guy, who was a photographer or reporter and would be sitting at the port, gave me same glowing point fetch quest for the literal 100th time.

World is actually well laid out despite there only really being one major city. I liked the variety.

Caves feel legitimately spoopy, and the lighting is phenomenal.

I like the banter wit the bros, even if it does get repetitive. It's still a nice touch.

Voice acting is really good, even though they sound disconnected. It's not the VAs fault.

Ardyn is a really cool antagonist, but I wish they have him more backstory.

Character models look really good in-game, and animations look bretty gud.

Having to watch a boring movie and cheap looking anime to understand certain plot points and character motivations. That was a fucking stupid idea, and XV's marketing team are complete garbage.

I'm still upset the invasion was taken out. That 2011 trailer is still one of my favorite trailers.

Combat is mind mind-numbingly boring. Mainly rely on parries and back attacks, and Ignis' OP skills. Once you hit level 30 you can basically close your eyes throughout the game, if you don't include stronger optional enemies towards the end of the game. I hear the combat for Gladio DLC improves combat, and I hope it's true. It would also be good the get a Hard difficulty option.

While the voice actors did a good job, it sound disjointed with awkward pauses between everything.

Luna as a character, and her connection with Noctis felt really flimsy and not handled well at all.

Needed more Cor. They touted him like a frequent guest character and he isn't. He disappears like most character for the second half of the game which is completely linear.

Only good part was the attack on the train and that only lasted about 10 minutes where as Chapter fucking 113 dragged on for a good 45 minutes or more.

No boat action, boat ride is literally just a cutscene.

Not enough summons, some are even just one-time cutscenes like Bahaman. Also summons being random really sucks.

Everything is either a fetch quest or hunt. That's it. Can only make money doing one hunt for a vendor at a time, as well as fixing 100000 cars all the fucking time.

The pinball minigame was not fun at all. Felt like a chore to sell items from it for money.

The more you play the worse the game gets, and I'm not joking. The world feels emptier and emptier and shit gets more repetitive, then the game goes full retard when you reach Atlisssia and speak to Hilary Clinton.

It's a quiet, crushing disappointment instead of a big explosive trainwreck like NMS.

It's a slow, grinding game that actively wastes your time driving a car from place to place doing fetch quests. Then you fight Leviathan and things somehow get worse. For all the shit FFXIII got over being a linear mess, it's miles ahead of the latter half of FFXV where things turn into boring corridor crawler with all of your good gear and party members taken away. On top of that story elements get thrown out, forgotten, or abruptly introduced at random.

There's no reason to get excited for this game on the PC. Both the PS4 and the PC have so many other games that are leagues better than FFXV that I can't imagine why anyone would even be hype for it. Mods couldn't even save it unless you felt like rebuilding the latter half of the game, and even then you'd be wasting a boatload of time.

eh its a choice between the lesser of two options. They could have done phony reflections like a static normal map like HZD did, where they just combine 50% SSR with a global illumination and it still looks awful compared to real reflections but at least it doesn't look like graphics artifacts ruining your immersion
