I didn't spurge out. We have multiple channels for different occasion so that we don't bother others when they're in a team based game. Problem was, they were gaming in the default channel, so I assumed it was cool to talk.
The majority of them were strangers that friends added over time and it became a social orgy of circles I'd never met.

It's only $4 a month, and I knew that it was getting some use from friends so it wasn't a big deal. They usually treat me to a couple of drinks when we meet up in our hometown, so it evens out.
That year I was meaning to get on and have a chat or play some games, but life was too busy for me to work up the energy. I know it's dumb, but it was hard to let go of something that used to be so important to me.
