Doom 1 and 2 is just overrated nostalgiabait that's severely outdated and aged like milk. Garbage not worth discussing of.

NuDoom is a disappointing trash with weak and boring weapons, clunky movements, shit graphic and optimization, braindead bullet sponge enemies, and flow breaking forced unavoidable kill animations.

Doom 3 is the best one with the awesome aesthetic, detailed models, satisfying combats and weapons, great pace, and honestly what Doom is all about. Great story and cinematics.

There is no point in picking up a PS4.
The Vita shares its library and sells the same titles for $20 cheaper with the benefit of being portable.
The Switch won't even get the good games the Vita is receiving and continues to receive either. Just look at recent news: The Vita received The Caligula Effect, an amazing title with a fantastic OST and story, unique battle system and a multitude of characters to learn about and befriend while the 3DS still (and probably will never) hasn't received Etrian Odyssey 5.

In this point of time, it'll outlast not only the Wii U, but the 3DS too. With Sony announcing the Vita 2 at E3 this year, both the PS4 and Switch will be moot purchases as it'll do everything they both do but better.
