Why do people call this a saturday morning cartoon? It's a pretty serious game
All the MGS games are saturday morning cartoons, MGS3 is just the most honest about it.
Compared to MGS2 it's pretty zany.
Also it's a lot worse than 2.
>>376468510
MGS2 fans calling it that due to not being as "deep" as their "masterpiece"
>>376468760
>wait...what?
Wow, you can't understand art. Good for you!
>>376468760
But it really isn't deep compared to masterpiece what mgs2 was.
>>376468823
>MGS2
>art
>>376468945
>MGS2
>masterpiece
you guys are only solidifying the bad stereotype of MGS2 fans
>>376468510
>It's a pretty serious game
What? It's a love letter to the cheesy spy films from back in the day. It's so over the top at points but it owns it.
>>376468510
I get that some parts of the game felt like that, but it is also very serious at times. Personally I think the game perfectly blends both camp and seriousness. My personal opinion is that it is the best in the series. Great story and the ending had me cutting onions.
kojima was right they are training us to be the perfect soldier
>>376468760
>tfw I like all MGS games across the board despite their pros and cons
Keep arguing over nothing faggits
>>376469304
some had bigger cons than others.
Like 2 had:
Raiden
bad level design of Big Shell
Arsenal Gear
The plot at the last part of the game
Solidus boss fight (forced to use a gimmick weapon)
>>376468590
> LOL the entire game was actually a training mission that no one was in on yet somehow worked out perfectly
>not as zany as 3
>>376469479
>that no one was in on
except for some random ass AI that came out of the blue at the end, claimed to be behind everything, and talked some random bullshit
>>376468760
>liked Twin Snakes
>disliked Arsenal Gear, one of the best moments in the series
Pathetic
>>376469793
it was not a good moment
>>376469863
>it was not good moment
>>376468760
>MGS V
Spot on. Chapter 1 is great. Shit was kicking off then it all went downhill.
>>376469863
low iq detected
Kojima is one of the few people who can balance serious with silly effectively.
>>376468998
MGS2 is definitely art. How isn't it art like most vidya?
>>376469434
Arsenal gear and the general spookyness of it stuck with me when I first played it, so I'm biased towards that, but I think that the ending was pretty cool, foreshadowing the current state of the internet and all that.
>>376470552
the last segment of the game nullifies any chance of MGS2 being "art".
>>376470580
I just stopped giving a fuck near the end of the game. Like "I want this mess done".
>>376470751
>the last segment of the game nullifies any chance of MGS2 being "art".
How?
Because you can shoot a beehive making it drop onto a guards head which causes him to run away making Zoidberg whooping.
>>376470769
the game is being trippy as balls, a retarded AI babbling on about scissors, bad boss fights, a raid by said retarded AI, ending with an easter egg.
>>376468945
>game needs to be deep to be a masterpiece
>mgs3 not deep
literally wrong, just cause it doesnt go out of its own reality into ours doesnt make it deeper than mgs3, which just sticks to its own setting etc.
>>376470957
How does that prevent it from being art?
>>376471082
because it wasn't good
>>376471115
1. That's your opinion, which is wrong.
2. Has nothing to do with whether or not it's art.
>>376471065
MGS2 is deeper because
1. It's a holistic creation, everything is meant to reinforce everything else thematically.
2. Its narrative isn't a copy of MGS1; except ironically in the second half.
3. It tackles new themes uncovered by the first game, unlike 3.
>>376471291
>Its narrative isn't a copy of MGS1
MGS2 is a Solid Snake Simulation you moron.

Try reading entire posts before replying, kiddo.

Why should I when one stupid statement can bring the validity of the entire post into question?

Hahaha so you still haven't read the full post?
