What's the poorfag's way of getting into jubeat?

A machine costs 8000 (expected) and a controller apparently costs 400, so what's the best way to play this without resorting to a tablet? In case of resorting to a tablet, what's the best option?
>>
just don't play it
>>
tablet version is good but unless you have some fuckhuge 12" it's not the same experience: certain patterns are designed to force you into using two hands but on smaller screens you can cheese it with one. iirc most generic DLC cracks don't work with the mobile version, so you'll have to google around for one that works.

if you're talking about the Dao controller that's your only real option for an accurate experience: arcade machines have online DRM fuckery that's a pain to get around.
>>
>>376465648
What the fuck are you talking about?
>>
>>376465648
https://www.gamo2.com/en/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=310
This is the controller.

>>376465745
Dunno, I'm a sucker for different types of controllers so that's what attracted me to it the most.

>>376465891
So how do I go about using the DAO? Does it come with the screen and everything or do I have to buy that separately?

>>
>>376466029
DAO comes with a VESA mount but no screen. Make sure you buy one with low input lag. The controller will map to arbitrary keyboard buttons so if you're using a simulator it's easy to remap.

If you're talking about any other forms of playing the game you're asking in the wrong place.

Japan makes good shit if you're into music games
>>
>>376466276
Oh, I get it. It's a controller in its own right, connects to your PC and then you get a separate LCD to display everything.

This is pretty cool
>>
>>376466120
>>376466585

Why not just play any tapping game on a tablet or phone?
>>
had to google to find out what it was. you're retarded if you have one of these in your house.
>>
>>376466879
Buttons feel way more responsive, like typing with a keyboard vs a touchscreen

>>376466930
The DAO is pretty small though
>>
>>376465648

Jubeat plus on iOS is amazing when you pirate the DLC. The JP version is the only one worth a shit, though.
>>
>>376466980
>Buttons feel way more responsive
No they don't. I played the shit out of this on a few different machines this past MAGfest and the buttons had practically no feedback at all. May as well just play on your phone.
>>
>>376467073
Oh
By all those clicking noises I assumed it was responsive.
>>
>>376467073
>>376467289
They are low-travel membrane buttons, but it's still more feedback than a touch screen.
If you've never played on a real cab before, you might not want to splurge on a controller
>>
If you want to get into any Bemani game at all, you better be prepared to pony up the cash. Jubeat ASCs are $400 BEFORE shipping and buying a monitor that works properly with the game, which push it to over a grand. Sure you can save a couple of bucks of buying the raw parts and making it from the ground up, but that's a lot of effort and it's a nightmare to keep the wiring tidy for Jubeat since every button has four sensors.
>>
>>376468375
Aight, I guess for now I'll stick to a touchscreen (I'll see if I find a jubeat plus ipa) and seeing if I can find a cabinet somewhere. /thread
>>
>>376468538
What general area are you located in?
>>
>>376468654
Jacksonville and sometimes Chicago
>>
>>376468704
Chicago has a Round 1, but I'm pretty sure they don't have jubeat
You can check on here for machines https://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/arcades.php

Making your own shouldn't be too difficult. You can maybe just buy a touch monitor?
>>
>>376468890
Nice, thanks anon

>>376468990
As mentioned in >>376466716 it's a controller so it doesn't need a touchscreen but yeah I won't pay that much for it until a later time
>>
choose a cheaper rhythm game
>>
i find it baffling that someone would pay $400 for a controller that just allows you to tap for a specific rhythm game. how fucking boring

That'd be the case if it came with the game pre-installed, however it is just a controller, technically you could use it on any game

Already got this
I can never go back to guitar hero, it's amazing
>>
>>376469619
there are people that have dropped thousands to restore DDR machines. it's worth it.
>>376469741
what's a cheapo electric guitar I can buy to play this with? I have an acoustic but I don't want people next door to hear me suck

You could try this if you have a midi keyboard then, it'll be available on Steam too.

I tried to write a program once that maps touchscreen input to Jubeat keys. Gave up when the game wouldn't run on my shit tablet.

Still, it should work in theory. There are some capacitive touchscreens for $300, so that's an option if you can find a program like that.

>>376469741
Aren't guitars more expensive than controllers?
>>
>>376470167
The most decent chink ripoff you can find if you're only using it for the game
If you're interested in actually practicing get one of those "learn to play!" bundles, it's an ok start
There's always the rare case of a good old fender or something selling on ebay/craigslist

Pretty sure /mu/ could help

Buy used and make sure to get it setup, specially the intonation.

>>376470218

Gotta agree with >>376471913 here. Though if I do get into OSU, it'd be using a mouse or smth.

>>376470173
>>376470472
These seem pretty interesting. I should have a MIDI keyboard lying around
>>
>>376472319
Is jubeat the only rhythm game that interests you?

There are some other Konami rhythm game series like, Beatmania IIDX, Pop'n Music, Sound Voltex, and DDR. Pop'n Music is probably the cheapest to get into.

There's also Taiko from Namco, you'd need a Wii U to play the console ports though, and I think OSU! has a Taiko mode.
