That's the one where it's in 3D, right? Honestly, Kirby games are pretty consistent in giving me lore that I like, even in these little games. They have powers I usually enjoy. They're usually cute-- the bad guys are usually fucked up, which I also like. And the music also tends to be pretty good. I guess the only thing I can think of is maybe have more player 2 options than just Kirby, Bandanna Dee, DeeDeeDee, and Meta Knight, like maybe... animal companions? Gooey?

Other than that, Kirby games generally live up to expectations.

I doubt inconsistencies would be because they didn't care, referencing him so much since Squeak Squad already shows they care plenty. Inconsistencies would arise because they missed a detail from the original game and artwork, or are conflating him with DL3 Dark Matter, or try mixing his hairball form with his orb-adorned form, or just plain felt like making a change for whatever reason. If he shows up 1:1 as he was in the production of DL2 but with some new sword and magic moves then I would be very happy. I'll be happy if he gets in no matter what but changing the character in a notable way when that isn't necessary would flare up my autism too.

I have to say, it did revitalize the series. It was the first mainline game in years, the first home console game since Crystal Shards, and the first game under Kumazaki, the new series director.
Even if it doesn't hold up perfectly in hindsight for fair criticisms, it'll always have a place in my heart for that.

The first game for the Gameboy is the best way to start in my opinion. Although it doesn't feature copy abilities until the second game, it's a really short game you can complete in 15-20 minutes. Also there's an Extra Mode where the enemies are faster and deals more damage to you.

Kirby games aren't very challenging for starters, but they're fun to play. Just don't expect anything insanely difficult, and enjoy the ride.

Well that's a bit of a lie, but you won't find a challenge until the end game and extra modes. Most of the games are designed to be beatable by everyone (main mode at least), but the appeal comes in the amount of freedom and variety in how you play, its less of a platformer centered around specific challenges and more of a beat-em up in a sense, the abilities letting you approach obstacles and plow through enemies whatever way you find most fun. There's also often collectibles and the like for completionists.

If you come in just expecting some light gaming and fun you might actually be surprised at some of the depth or complexity when you get down to it, they're designed to ramp up as you progress as well as have enough depth to make it worthwhile for experienced players. Bosses are actually a highlight, new and old, as early as Adventure an exciting climax and final boss awaits in most every game.

Wow. I'm surprised you people still remember me. I think it's been a full year since I posted last.

I've been doing amazingly actually. I started college and that's been sucking up most of my time. But as of recently I've decided to put less of my free time towards video games and more time towards my Kirby Air Ride remake. I plan on posting a lot more with progress here from now on. Plus summer's coming up and that means a lot of time to work on the game.

I was honestly scared of coming back because I thought you guys would be mad at me for not updating or anything. The fact that you care so much about some fag who's remaking a game really means a lot to me. You have no idea how reassuring it is to hear that you care more about my happiness than the game. But don't worry, I've ramped up production, so to speak.

One day I want to make an archive of all relevant texts and what not, with the obvious boss lore and miiverse entries but also even including old manual blurbs as well as any important story and dialogue in the actual games. All obviously presented as it is in the games, so any interpretations or theories are up to the reader.
Thought of calling it something cheeky like the "Lor Archives"

I got the dialogue file out of RtDL but its formatted weirdly so I'd have to spend a few hours retyping it as well as figuring out just when stuff is said
