As time moved forward, sony decided to change its catalogue for its existing fans, while nintendo decided to let them go and aim for a new batch. Fast forward to 2017, and it looks like Sony got lucky. Kids don't care about consoles anymore because of tablets, and Sony has the adult market on lockdown. Nostalgiafags are still loyal to nintendo, but it's very difficult for the company to expand with its current strategy.

The Wii's attachment rate was higher than the PS3's. The idea that the Wii was a casual machine and those people never bought any games is utter crap, they bought more games than your average PS3 owner. If any console was the casual console of choice it was the PS3. All the EA sports games, COD games, etc. consistently sold more copies on the PS3 than any other platform.
